The Duke (Devil's Duke #3)

Finished reading this book last week and enjoyed the style of writing. Very Interesting so much so it got me thinking if the people really talked like that in that time era.

I gave 3 ★

Amarantha first met Gabriel six years ago when she was on her way to marry someone else.  Even though they fell in love with each other both decided to hide it from each other as well as the rest of the world.

When they met again after six years ...

The rates given by Goodreads.com and Amazon.com is between 3 and 4 stars and I feel you should read it also.

Mass Market Paperback, 395 pages
Published September 26th 2017 by Avon

Six years ago, when Lady Amarantha Vale was an innocent in a foreign land and Gabriel Hume was a young naval officer, they met . . . and played with fire.

Now Gabriel is the dark lord known to society as the Devil’s Duke, a notorious recluse hidden away in a castle in the Highlands. Only Amarantha knows the truth about him, and she won’t be intimidated. He is the one man who can give her the answers she needs.

But Gabriel cannot let her learn his darkest secret. So begins a game of wit and desire that proves seduction is more satisfying—and much more wicked—the second time around.

This is new book released in October 2017 and I finished reading this fascinating book last week. It was a wonderful book and I managed to squeeze in time to read it in two days.  The genre of this book is historical romance.

My rating was 3 ★

Duke of Ashbury’s was very smart to recognize Emma as gem.  Emma was so focused on solving her immediate problem with her landlord that she didn't understand his proposal.

She was smart enough to understand his needs for a wife.

There were scenes where Emma was humiliated by his ex
fiancée and how she handled that situations.

Please share your own comment below when you have read this book also.

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

The review provided by Goodreads is:

When girl meets Duke, their marriage breaks all the rules…

Since his return from war, the Duke of Ashbury’s to-do list has been short and anything but sweet: brooding, glowering, menacing London ne’er-do-wells by night. Now there’s a new item on the list. He needs an heir—which means he needs a wife. When Emma Gladstone, a vicar’s daughter turned seamstress, appears in his library wearing a wedding gown, he decides on the spot that she’ll do.

His terms are simple:
- They will be husband and wife by night only.
- No lights, no kissing.
- No questions about his battle scars.
- Last, and most importantly… Once she’s pregnant with his heir, they need never share a bed again.

But Emma is no pushover. She has a few rules of her own:
- They will have dinner together every evening.
- With conversation.
- And unlimited teasing.
- Last, and most importantly… Once she’s seen the man beneath the scars, he can’t stop her from falling in love
